  Worship at Freedom In Christ

FREEDOM IN CHRIST is an eclectic mix of people who are from a wide variety of church backgrounds. Some of us came from churches where only the old hymns were sung. Others came from churches where praise choruses and expressive praise (ie: lifting hands, dancing before The Lord, and clapping hands) was more the style of worship. We are instructed to worship The Lord in Spirit and in Truth; and we recognize heart attitude rather than style as being the matter of importance.

Over the years of our being a church family, it seems that our worship has developed into a more charismatic style of worship with mostly contemporary praise music, and some of the expressions of worship mentioned above. Our heart in this assembly is that our worship would be pleasing to The Lord. Whatever the expression we might use, our focus is on honoring His Name in all we do.

The Lord has been pleased to provide us with an anointed team of wonderful musicians and singers who have been faithful to lead the congregation into the presence of God each Sunday evening as we gather together to exalt Him in worship.

We invite you to come and visit us when you are in San Francisco, to be a part of the blessing we so enjoy as we sing praises to The Lord Jesus Christ.

  Our Mission

Our Purpose and Vision

To Establish a fellowship of Christian believers in San Francisco whose purpose it is to proclaim the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ both by the written/spoken word and by lifestyle evangelism. While we are commissioned to be a witness to all people in our community regardless of racial, social, sexual, cultural, and other considerations, our primary commitment and mission is to the gay/lesbian communities. This includes both Christians who have left the church as well as those who have never experienced a relationship with Jesus Christ and have no church background.

To Provide a place where we can together minister to God through worship in "Spirit & Truth."

To Establish ample opportunity for nurturing the spiritual growth of believers "For the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ" through instruction in the scriptures.

To Provide a safe haven where healing (physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual) can be facilitated through an atmosphere of love and openness and family.

  Statement Of Faith

We Believe and Accept:

  1. The Bible as divinely inspired written Word of God.
  2. The trinity (tri-unity) of God, ie: one God in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  3. The deity of Jesus Christ.
  4. The true humanity of Jesus Christ; the virgin birth of Jesus; that His miracles literally took place; that Jesus Christ alone is mediator between God and people.
  5. The substitutionary blood atonement of Christ.
  6. The Bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
  7. The universality of sin.
  8. The necessity of the new birth as the means of salvation; that salvation is by the grace of God to all who have personal believing faith in Jesus Christ.
  9. The maintenance of good works in the lives of believers.
  10. The personality and Deity of The Holy Spirit.
  11. The need for believers to be filled with The Holy Spirit, thus producing personal lives that glorify God.
  12. The assurance of eternal life is the present possession of each child of God.
  13. The imminent bodily return of Jesus Christ.
  14. The resurrection of the saved and the lost.
  15. The eternal separation from God's presence of those who do not believe and accept the gospel.
  16. The reality and personality of satan; the reality of a host of unseen spirit beings in subjection and allegiance to satan; and that believers are to resist satan and his host.
  17. The church belongs to Jesus Christ, Who alone is its only rightful Head, that it is being built upon Him. The Church-universal is the body of Christ from which no believers are excluded. Local churches are companies of born again (regenerated) believers who have joined themselves together in commonly shared evangelical doctrine, beliefs, fellowship and purpose, having called out ministers (servants) to equip, instruct, preach, teach, edify, etc.
  18. The Lord's commission to the churches is to share the gospel in love.
  19. The local churches are to observe the ordinances of The Lord's Supper [communion]; and believer's baptism.
  20. The Priesthood of all believers.
